Nancy Paine Sherman is our acupuncturist at the University Health Clinic. Acupuncture can be effective in treating a wide variety of conditions including headaches, migraines, chronic & acute pain, digestive & respiratory disorders, women’s health conditions, psycho-emotional problems and neurological disorders.
Graduating from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies, she later returned to a lifelong interest in Eastern cultures and history to study the healing art of acupuncture, earning her Master of Acupuncture degree from Northwest Institute of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in 2001. She has since divided her practice between traditional acupuncture treatments for common health conditions and community service & public health.
Nancy has a special interest in mental health and has worked in several agencies both as a staff provider and as a volunteer to treat persons suffering from addictions and emotional health issues. Nancy is an avid believer in the physical, mental & spiritual benefits of yoga and practices regularly. Other personal interests include music, all the performing arts (she likes to treat artists with acupuncture for performance anxiety/stage fright), reading, films and cooking. She enjoys tennis and walks with her musician husband and standard poodle.
